An Eloise-Inspired Pea Coat and a Clueless Pin-Back Button!

It’s almost my favorite holiday of the year, and I could not be more excited!! My family from South Africa came down for the holiday (MY FAVORITE HUMANS EVER!!), so we decided to take them on a little three-day trip to SF to get in the spirit of Christmas. We stayed in the Fairmont San Francisco for the first time, and it was INCREDIBLE!! First off, they had closets the size of my room in college lol (completely unnecessary but I found it amusing – totally wish I could trade that closet for mine now hahaa). My favorite part of the hotel was the lobby – they had a super cute Christmas tree and a life-size gingerbread house on display! We also got to see a lot of my dad’s side of the family on Tuesday night which was super fun because I got to see all of my little cousins who I hadn’t seen in FOREVER!

Of course, when I’m in SF, I love dressing to the occasion. Because its Christmas time, the Eloise coat was calling my name! If you guys haven’t seen Eloise at Christmastime, you HAVE to watch it!! It is literally one of my favorite Christmas movies of all time! If you have seen it, you would probably agree that this coat would be something that Eloise would wear. Anyways, I got this coat for 25$ at Buffalo Exchange along with these funky inverse polka dotted tights for 5$! I am OBSESSED with these tights because they make an average look funky and eccentric. However, because these tights are QUITE FUNKY, wearing them with a lot of colors probably isn’t the best idea. TIP FOR DRESSING UP THE TIGHTS: wear mainly blacks, whites, and greys and then throw in only one article of clothing that is colored to draw attention to the tights and the colored accessory. For my pop of color, I decided to wear my simple red turtleneck (to keep me warm and to throw in that Christmas-time color palette)! I got this turtleneck from the Assistance League Thrift Shop in downtown Orange for 3$! To keep the rest of the look simple, I chose to wear my high-waisted denim midi skirt from Forever 21 and some black ankle booties from H&M. Black ankle booties are a must-have in the winter – they go with any outfit and are super comfy! To accessorize, I chose to abide by Cher Horowitz’s closet haha. I wore my black silver- punched punk belt (10$ from Buffalo Exchange!) and my “As-If” Clueless Pin-Back Button! Adding simple, but fun little accessories to a look can always top it off!

Only a few more days until Christmas! Better start crafting and shopping if you haven’t already hahah!

XOXO, ZINKLEDEE
