Blue Flowers and Orange Purses

As you probably know by now, off-the-shoulder clothing is my all-time favorite. You can always catch me wearing something off-the-shoulder at least once during the week – whether it’s an off-the-shoulder shirt, dress, or sweater. So, for today’s outfit, I wanted to wear a dress because it was unusually hot outside. However, I didn’t want to wear something too fancy because I was just trying to put together an outfit for an average day at college. So, I decided to add a blue, washed out-denim cropped flannel to the dress. I incorporated this flannel into the whole “look” by tying it around the waste of the dress to form a divide between the top and bottom of the dress – in this way, the outfit was made more casual because it appeared as more of a two piece outfit that was unified by the flannel. However, if I were to wear some wooden wedges, remove the flannel, add some jewelry and a clutch to the look, I would probably be ready for a semi-formal event.

Now, let’s talk about where I got all of the pieces within my outfit from! I got my off-the-shoulder flower dress from the store, Stella Laguna Beach. I absolutely am in love with this store! I got this specific dress from the Stella in the Irvine Spectrum, but I know that they have one in Newport as well. I would describe this store as being simple, chic, girly, and trendy. They always have a specific color scheme in the store – whether it is light pink, white, or light blue. They also have super cute pattered apparel – more specifically, flower patterns, solid patterns, striped patterns, etc. Would highly recommend checking it out! I bought the cropped denim flannel from Forever 21 ages ago!! However, the good thing about flannels is that they last forever and they go with so many things. Whether you are going to a rodeo or just want something to tie around your jeans/shirt at school, the flannel is the perfect purchase! Shoes wise, I got them from Urban Outfitters. You have to be a keen shopper to spot the good shoes at Urban, but it is definitely amazing what you can find. I love these tie up sandals because they are a nude color that matches with pretty much anything and the tie-up effect adds the perfect amount of flare to any outfit. Lastly, let’s talk about the infamous orange purse! This orange purse – Coach brand – is perfect to carry your phone and keys around in, while simultaneously making your outfit look cuter! Even though it is a vibrant orange color, I still find that it goes with most of my outfits because of its small and convenient size, its design, and crossover style! I hope you gained some valuable insight regarding how to make a formal outfit turn casual today!
