Black, White, and a Lil’ Bit of Gold and Pink

Happy Friday everyone!! I hope your holidays have been amazing so far! I have to go back to Chapman for interterm Tuesday, so I’m trying to make the most out of my last few days of break! Interterm is gonna be a bit rough because I am taking a 16 week course in 4 weeks!! YIKES! It should be fun though because I don’t have to worry about 4 other classes and its only 3 hours a day J! Anyways, I went to LA with Laura, Akash, and Abby in the beginning of the semester for a fun photo shoot! We ventured all around LA – from Melrose, to Greystone, to Palos Verdes! I recently got the photos back, so the next few posts will be from the shoot in LA!

For this look, I decided to wear all black and white apparel so the accessories I wore would pop out! Long maxi skirts and simple cropped tanks are always my go-to look when I am in a rush and I am in need of a fast outfit. I am obsessed with this black and white striped maxi skirt from Forever 21 (yes, I’ve already posted about it once, but everything else in the outfit is different hahah). It is probably the article of clothing in my closet that I have gotten the most wear out of because of its neutral color, light-weight material, and its overall comfort. To go with it, I wore my simple white cropped tank from H&M! Cropped tanks look great with high-waisted denim jeans, basically any type of skirt, or even overalls! They are great to pair with fun jackets because they are simple and won’t draw any attention away from the jacket you are wearing. You could also pair this skirt with a vibrant colored tube top! In terms of layers, I threw on my H&M cropped leather jacket (I got it from Buffalo Exchange for 20$!) to give off some “Biker-chick” vibes. However, I could totally throw on a purple fur coat with some purple platform boots and be ready for a night out in NYC!

Now, let’s talk about my favorite part of the outfit…THE ACCESSORIES!!! I figured that I should choose some bold-colored accessories for the look because the rest of the outfit was neutral colored. So, of-course, I chose to bring out the crazy fuchsia absent-rimmed sunnies! If you are wearing all black and white and pull these INCREDIBLE shades out, everyone will be drawn to the shades. I mean, who wouldn’t?! These shades come in all different colors – all of which would pair very nicely with this look (light yellow, pastel blue, orange, purple, etc…). For my jewelry, I of course wore my 8 rings (I never go a day without wearing these lol) and I threw in some Alex and Ani bangles. These are the perfect little gold accessories to complete a look!

Shout out to the AMAZING Laura Claypool (@lauraclaypool_photo) and Abby Carton (@clev.erphotos) for inviting me to go on this shoot and taking these incredible pics! Make sure to go check out their Instagram accounts to see their insane photo skills!!
